The Trifecta of Inspiration

In the middle of my home city, Harbin, stood the Saint Sophia Cathedral, an Eastern Russian Orthodox church. Not only did this 112 year old feat juxtapose its modernist surroundings, but it also housed the most vicious pigeons in China —— the whole scene made me fall in love with architecture as a kid.

I spent the rest of my childhood across Albuquerque, Pennsylvania, and Milan; experiencing life alongside desert pueblos, red farm barns, and ancient cathedrals continued to promote my love.

Despite the articulated neatness of architecture, I hope to make spatial Orientation irrelevant in my work. Inorganic forms are incorporated to disperse logical realism, and elements of nature serve as perspective references. In the end, there is no right or wrong way to look, only how deeply.
